Casa Bonita was a great experience for me and the family. Being from Texas, I’m usually not a big fan of Mexican food in Colorado — but I was pleasantly surprised. I had the brisket tacos, and they were actually pretty good! Definitely better than most Mexican food I’ve had in the state. But honestly, the food is just one part of what makes Casa Bonita so fun. You get plenty of time to eat, and then you’re free to explore the whole place. The restaurant is huge and full of cool surprises. We loved seeing all the characters walking around — they were super friendly and really made you feel like part of the atmosphere. The cliff diving show was a big hit, and we also sat in for the puppet show, which was fun and nostalgic. There’s just so much to see and do, it’s way more than just dinner. I’m really glad Trey and Matt decided to save this place. It’s quirky, unique, and a ton of fun. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area — especially with family!
Besides the task it takes to get a reservation, we were extremely happy with our experience going back to the new and improved Casa Bonita! The food was great, the atmosphere was fun, our daughter loved every second of it! They did a great job keeping the nostalgia of what we grew up going to, and improved upon where they once lacked! Can’t wait to go back again!
I have to say Casa Bonita exceeded my expectations. We watched the documentary before we came to Denver and we were so impressed with Trevor and Matt’s passion for this project and willingness to see it through to completion that we had to see it ourselves. It did not disappoint! Every book has something unique or exciting to explore. I love how they honored several pieces of history and even have the museo to showcase previous times. The food was excellent! And all of the performances were top notch. Our service at the table could have been better. We had to flag our server down for drinks, the check, etc all things that an attentive server should be on top of. The divers and waterfall are spectacular and the puppet show is excellent for all ages! What a cool experience! I will definitely need to bring our youngest. This is definitely something everyone should expert least once in their lives.
